Q: What is Reiki?
A: Reiki is composed of two Japanese words: REI, meaning spirit or guided or conscious or universe and KI, meaning life force or energy. Reiki energy is regarded as conscious or universal life force energy. When a person undergoes a Reiki session, he or she allows as much energy to be taken into him/herself as is needed.
Q: How does the Reiki energy work to provide healing?
A: The individual’s “inner healer” or immune system help to eliminate energetic “blockages” that are often the source of pain.. With the clearing of these blockages, the individual’s energy can be used for achieving balance and improving wellness.
Q: What is a Reiki session?
A: After a brief assessment of the person’s needs, the session begins with the client lying down fully clothed on a massage table. The practitioner places her hands lightly on the body, or just above. The client is encouraged to relax and often feels a sense of flowing heat, coolness or tingling. Individuals often report that they feel more relaxed and balance after a session, while also feeling a greater sense of energy and well-being.
